Three decades of urban redevelopment along the Mississippi River

St Paul, MN – John Koneck, Board Chair of the Saint Paul Riverfront Corporation, announced that the organization will cease operations on July 31, 2018, marking 33 years of serving the City of Saint Paul and its transformation and maintenance as a model urban center. “The City of Saint Paul owes a debt of gratitude to the Saint Paul Riverfront Corporation for changing the vision of what is possible in our community and for always challenging us to ensure that every voice is heard,” said Saint Paul Mayor Melvin Carter.

Thank you again to all of you who invested your time, talents, expertise, and love for this city to help create this plan. Thank you to the Steering Committee, the Working Groups, and all of you who took time to participate in the March and May workshops – this was truly a collaborative effort that could not have happened without all of you actively engaging in the community-based process.

I hope the report captures the story of our journey together last year, acts as a reminder of all the important conversations that took place, the information that was gathered, and the decisions that were made. I hope that it serves as a reference as you continue to build the cross-sector partnerships and move from planning to action.

Best of luck as you continue the important work of city building!

Darlene R. Walser
Executive Director
