On Wednesday, November 1, JLT Group withdrew its request to rezone the West Side riverfront to a downtown classification for its shopping center and housing project, The Bridges of Saint Paul. This follows a strong majority vote by the Saint Paul Planning Commission to deny JLT’s rezoning request.
In withdrawing the proposal, JLT agreed to work with neighborhood groups to redefine the project. We are optimistic that such a process will bring forward a better proposal that respects our unique river valley, connects the greater West Side to the Mississippi River and builds on twenty years of successful riverfront, neighborhood and downtown revitalization.
We will continue to keep you apprised of this important issue. For your convenience,
