Landmark Plaza is a vivid example of the intent of the Framework--to green the downtown and connect previously disconnected elements of the public realm.

Chapter 4
Public Realm:  Parks, Recreation and Open Space
Parks, recreation and open space are necessary to a vital urban core. High-quality public facilities provide a central focus for new development, contribute to a coherent network of public spaces and stimulate private investment. The Framework seeks to develop a mixture of urban villages organized around a series of green squares or small parks, and connected by a network of "green" streets, pathways and natural corridors. Greening is achieved through a variety of approaches, including street tree planting, development of new public squares and pocket parks, and the reclamation of derelict and underused spaces.
